4th National Selection Conference of EYP Georgia was held in Tbilisi on May 21-24th with the participation of almost 120 representatives of various academic institutions of Georgia. Venues of the session included Tbilisi Botanical Garden, International Black Sea University and for the first time in EYP Georgia’s history – Georgian Parliament!

Session enjoyed presidency of Ms. Teo Lavrelashvili (Board members – George Chitidze and George Samkharadze), as Sandro Jupalakiani and Marekhi Gvaramadze were appointed as Head-Organizers. Impressive European Star Night, committee dinner in old Tbilisi and farewell party at Shamrock café were unforgettable parts of the NSC.

David Bakradze, the Chairman of the Parliament welcomed the members of EYP Georgia at the General Assembly and wished them successful work.

The Chairman of the Parliament underlined the importance of youth participation for elaboration of Georgia’s future European course and in the process of integration with the European Structures.

“The returning back to the European Family is a lengthy process and contemporary youth,  among them the members of youth Parliament should contribute to this process particularly”, – David Bakradze declared.

According to the Chairman, the principal issue is to returning back to the European Family mentally that implies the perception of Georgia as a part of Europe and considering Georgian society as European Society within European Political mentality.

“The Europe is our choice that does not have any alternatives and your work in this direction will assist our country. Thus, your being here is important”, – David Bakradze declared.

Giorgi Khubua, the Rector of Tbilisi State University congratulated the youth gathered at the hall of plenary sessions with the successful implementation of the project and addressed them with a welcoming speech. According to him, the main achievement is that Georgian organization – Youth Parliament is considered as a serious partner in Europe.

EYP Georgia selected the delegates for the participation in Lviv and Athens International Sessions. Also, a new charter of the organization was affirmed by active members after the GA.
