Intelligence services, among them the National Security Agency (NSA) of the USA and the UK’s Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ), are collecting large amounts of data from citizens all over the world. This has been revealed through recent disclosures by whistleblower Edward Snowden, who leaked information about secret government programmes to the press. Governments and their supporters name security concerns as the main justification for these mass surveillance programmes, while many criticise a massive breach of privacy and see their freedom in danger.
What do you think? Have your say on Mass Surveillance in our new European Youth Poll: http://polls.eyp.org/surveillance
